Funding + Partnership Opportunities

Have an idea that could expand opportunity for RPS students?

Richmond Ed Fund invests in ideas, partnerships, and initiatives that help Richmond Public Schools deliver stronger outcomes for students and prepare every young person for a choice-filled life.

Our resources are intentionally focused. We look for opportunities connected to RPS priorities where philanthropic investment can fill a meaningful gap, strengthen or grow promising work, build something that is missing, or create learning that can inform broader change.

Current opportunities

There are currently no open opportunities to submit a funding or partnership inquiry. Future opportunities and submission timelines will be posted here.

Is REF the right partner?

An opportunity may be a strong fit when it:

Has a clear connection to RPS

The work directly benefits RPS students, schools, educators, or families.

Aligns with current priorities

The idea connects to areas where RPS and Richmond Ed Fund are currently focused.

Has potential to improve student outcomes

There is a clear connection between the work and stronger outcomes or expanded opportunity for students.

Addresses a clear need or opportunity

The work responds to an identified gap or opportunity for RPS students, schools, or communities.

REF can help move it forward

Our funding, relationships, or convening role could help advance the work.

Can strengthen, grow, or inform broader work

The investment could strengthen what works, test something promising, or shape future work.

Not every worthwhile idea will be the right fit for Richmond Ed Fund. Our resources are intentionally focused, and we may not be the right funder or partner for requests that fall outside our role or current priorities.

How requests work

Specific windows

REF will post opportunities when we are actively considering new funding or partnerships.

Brief first step

Start with a short inquiry, not a full proposal. We’ll first look at whether the opportunity may be a fit.

Potential fit

We may ask for more information or invite a conversation before making a decision.
